聽(AISC) and 51黑料 are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026 Steel Design Student Competition. The competition recognizes eleven exceptional projects, in two categories (Community Dance Center聽and Open), that explore a variety of issues related to the use of steel in design and construction.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA), Housing and Community Development (HCD) Knowledge Community and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (51黑料) are pleased to announce the winners of the 2026 Housing Education Prize. The winning course proposals will prepare students for a wide range of professional contexts, including design practice, development, policy, advocacy, research, and public service. Each course will be taught at 51黑料 member schools across the U.S. in the coming years.

This year 51黑料 is offering twelve (12) conference travel grants to member school faculty who face obstacles to inclusion in architectural education. The grants will support qualified faculty seeking to attend an 51黑料 conference in the coming year. This year the travel grant will allow faculty to apply for two upcoming conferences including the 51黑料 Administrators Conference taking place in Tucson, AZ, and the 51黑料115 Annual Meeting taking place in Atlanta, GA.

51黑料 invites faculty to submit for the 2027 Architectural Education Awards. Every year, 51黑料 honors architectural educators for exemplary work in areas such as building design, community collaborations, scholarship, and service. The award-winning professors inspire and challenge students, contribute to the profession鈥檚 knowledge base, and extend their work beyond the borders of academia into practice and the public sector.

The 115th 51黑料 Annual Meeting: INSIDEANDOUTSIDE invites contributions that explore how current urgencies 鈥� climate, equity, technology, and civic responsibility 鈥� shape pedagogical priorities, and how architecture as a practice and architecture as a discipline may be perceived from both inside and outside our field. Educators, practitioners, researchers, and students are all encouraged to submit full papers, design projects & short papers.

Join 51黑料 and EAAE for the fifth biennial Teachers Conference in Riga, Latvia, June 16-18, 2027, with host institution Riga Technical University. Educators, practitioners, researchers, and engaged citizens are invited to explore the evolving role of architectural education in shaping society. Submit a paper or poster by October 14, 2026, and be part of the conversation defining the future of architectural education.

51黑料’s 2027 student competitions will explore topics including community-based performance venues, climate-responsive designs, the eradication of forced labor in the building materials supply chain, and recreational buildings for youth. Each competition presents an opportunity for students to investigate, develop, and challenge systematic approaches to design

The upcoming issue of TECHNOLOGY | ARCHITECTURE + DESIGN (TAD) welcomes submissions that address the design, theory, history, and implementation of adaptable systems in architecture, engineering, and the built environment. This issue will focus on architectural systems that sense, respond, and evolve, exploring how emerging technologies, environmental imperatives, and shifting social conditions are transforming architecture from a static artifact into a dynamic, learning system across scales, from materials and envelopes to buildings, infrastructure, and urban systems. The journal welcomes research or scholarship on the topic of this call for papers or open topics on a rolling submission basis.
